How can Occupational Therapy help...

Occupational Therapist's (OT's) facilitate a dynamic approach to therapy, looking at each child/adult holistically, with a whole person approach. Many of our difficulties rarely arise through one issue alone; this is where OT's are unique and look at how the whole person is being impacted socially, emotionally, environmentally and physically by the challenges they face.

OT's are degree level trained in finding ways to overcome the impact that many illnesses, disorders and disabilities can have on yours or your childs occupations and everyday function. These include the impact of neurodiversity, disabilities, illness, physical and mental health on daily life. Occupational Therapists work with a variety of people of all ages, from birth, through childhood/adolescent, adult and elderly populations.

Occupations are those things that we do every day to keep us healthy, maintain our wellbeing and enable us to participate optimally in the things that matter most to us. this could be anything from making a cup of tea, brushing your teeth, washing/ dressing and many other types of Activities of Daily living (ADLs) up to accessing the community, reengaging in hobbies, yoga, walking, tennis.... literally anything that is important to you!

We believe that occupations are fundamentally important for our health and wellbeing. Maintaining our independence with occupations is an integral part of our lives and paramount to living a meaningful and purposeful life.

Our aim is to encourage you or your child to learn new skills and set goals to develop independence, reclaiming lost skills or adapting to find a completely new way, all with occupation at its heart, enabling you to live the life you wish to lead.

We can provide services to meet yours or your child's needs regardless of what difficulties you or they might be currently facing.
